Homework
Reception Class
Within Reception, pupils will be sent home with words to read on a weekly basis. These will be linked to what they have been learning in phonics that week. Parents are also asked to read with children each night, if possible. Parents will also receive a weekly newsletter with suggested practical activities to support the learning of their child.
From January weekly homework will be set which will be given out on a Friday and should be back in school by the following Thursday.
Key Stage 1
Homework in Key Stage 1 is given out on a Thursday and should be back in school by the following Wednesday so that it can be marked. Homework is differentiated so that every child gains maximum benefit from it. If you would like to discuss the homework that your child has been given, please speak to a member of staff in KS1 before or after school. Alternatively you can email the school office.
Spellings in Key Stage 1 are given out on a Thursday and are tested the following Wednesday. They are linked to the sounds that your child has been learning in phonics that week.
